Pusong Hero for Net Zero Fun Run Sparks Youth for Climate Action
Lipa City, Batangas — 28 September 2025. The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), together with National University (NU) and Race to Net Zero Philippines Inc., launched the inaugural Pusong Hero for Net Zero: Run for Climate Action at NU Lipa and SM City Lipa, drawing 2,000+ students, employees, and community members and kicking off a 10-campus series.
Against the backdrop of super typhoons, droughts, and rising sea level that already strain Philippine businesses—especially FMCG and other consumer-facing sectors—the initiative turns climate pledges into visible, practical action toward halving emissions by 2030.
Aligned with the UN-backed Race to Zero (with ECCP as the country’s Accelerator), the event showcased corporate and youth leadership—highlighted by ECCP Vice President Roman Menz joining the 5K run and ECCP Executive Director Mr. Florian Gottein delivering the welcome remarks. Partners include Republic Cement, TESTEX, Mega Prime Foods Inc., Audentes Technologies, and Fitbar Philippines, with campaign partners AsiaSociety for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST), the Bayo Foundation, and Spring Rain Global.
